You may want to experiment a bit to find which works best for you. CV Toolkit is slightly different in that it runs standalone, receiving clock from Ableton. Seeing as my production process is very DAW-centric, Blocks & Silent Way have fit my workflow best. I've been experimenting with the lot to determine which route is going to fit best. In addition to blocks, I do use some of the Silent Way plugins, and have been playing around a bit with CV Toolkit 2. Now I have an RME Babyface Pro and an ES-3. Initially I was using an older MOTU interface with my set up. I'm loving the integration between blocks & my modular.

The MOTU interfaces are a little more expensive, but they also do a nice job converting the modular output to digital for recording. I have the MOTU UltraLite AVB and have no trouble at all with control signals from, say, Reaktor, SilentWay or CV toolkit.
